Drawing Classes & Workshops

Discover the Da Vinci within you!

For all levels of skill - grow, gain confidence, learn a new creative language...

and HAVE FUN while doing it!!

Booking is essential as places are limited to 6 per class, which allows for an exceptional amount of one-on-one tuition.

You CAN draw like Da Vinci!

Whether you feel that you "can't even draw a stick figure" or have been a professional artist for decades, the drawing class program I offer is a tried-and-tested way to change the way you SEE and transform your technical skills and creative direction.

This popular and successful program focuses on realism - or "getting things right" - and benefits those who want to have some guidance and structure around their doodles, as well as those who feel they need an extra push to get their skill to the next professional level.

Weekly Classes

I run weekly drawing classes from my home studio/gallery in New Plymouth on Wednesdays and Thursdays during school term time.

Each class has a maximum of 6, so there is an exceptional amount of tuition, guidance and support for you - whether you are new to drawing or have been doing it for years.

I encourage drawing to be done at home in between classes, to practise your new skills and to keep honing your eye.

I have developed a structured drawing program for beginners and new students who feel they need to "get back to basics" which is an 8 week course - although a 4 week 'taster' is also available.

  • 8 week course (8 x 2hr classes) $280

  • 4 week option $140

  • all materials provided

  • max of 6 students per class

  • tea/coffee

  • you will need to allow for an additional 2-4 hours of drawing at home each week to complete tasks that are started in class

Weekend Workshops

I also run one-day and weekend drawing workshops periodically, which focus on one subject/theme, exploring shape, light and shade to a higher degree of detail.
