This is a two-and-a-half-day drawing and painting workshop which will focus on improving your figurative and portrait drawings and paintings by studying the form and proportion of a live model, and learning how to create flesh tones in acrylic. We will mostly use charcoal and pencil during the drawing stages, introducing one colour to assist with understanding the shapes of light and shade that create the three-dimensional form of the figure and face.

Sunday we will focus on drawing the body and becoming familiar with the shapes and proportions. Monday will be a mix of figure and face, drawing facial details and starting to learn the acrylic paint colour-mixing for portraiture. On Tuesday the model will hold one pose for the whole day, for detailed study and painting of a portrait/figurative work.

Please note: as per traditional life drawing classes, the model will be nude.

The workshop focuses on learning how to get depth in a forest setting, bright lights and dark shadows, and how to create fast, easy and effective leaves.
