Charlotte Giblin at Wallace Gallery Morrinsville Solo Exhibition 2023

'returning to the source'

Solo Exhibition

Wallace Gallery, Morrinsville

18 March - 6 April 2023

new imagined landscapes by Charlotte Giblin

This is a particularly significant collection of new work.It is a return to the location where my professional career began in New Zealand; it is a return to the energy of creativity and trust that I have often doubted, tested, and questioned in my art practice; it is the first major body of work I have produced since the successful birth of my latest book ‘Seeing Clearly’ and the death of my mum, who was my biggest fan.

These landscapes are masterclasses in colour, light and palette-knife technique, evolving organically without any source material.

Each painting tells a story and is intended to take the viewer on their own personal journey, creating space for the eye and the mind to wander freely.

Years in the making, I am thrilled to now be able to make this book available to the public!

Self-help woven together with an honest, unflinching artist's autobiography, this 360-page book has been printed right here in New Plymouth, and features over 250 of my artworks from the past 3 decades.

For more information go to the Books section on my website... or come along to Jane's Gallery during November to talk to me and buy a signed copy!

I will be at Jane's Gallery, 33 Gover St, New Plymouth from Nov 1st - 28th 2022.

Tasman National Art Awards Judges page

Exciting News!!

I am honoured to have been selected as one of the three judges for the

taking place on October 1st 2022.

Unfortunately, due to a family emergency overseas I was unable to attend the event. Due to the short notice of my overseas trip, my profile still appeared in the Art Awards catalogue.

Congratulations to all the winners of the competition, and to the whole Tasman Art Awards team for putting on an outstanding show!
